| How to reuse or recycle this... | | My daughter gave me a new mixer for Christmas because my old one was a real joke..Held together with duck tape and even then we had to hold the cord in or it would stop..It was also very heavy because it was actually one of those that was on a stand and you put the bowl under it, except that part broke a long time ago..So now I have this very light and smaller mixer that makes great mashed potatoes without much effort..So the first thing I did was throw out the mixer, it was not good for anything..But the beaters are still good..I was wondering if these could be used for anything or just something to throw away.. | |
| | Freecycle and Orphan birds... | | My husband brought home this used birdcage about a year ago, I have no idea why because as much as I think birdsd are pretty, they do kind of scare me, so I won't take care of one. Well, last Spring I tried to sell it, but no one wanted a Bird Cage so I just took it and put it on the back porch.I am a member of freecycle and soemone needed to borrow a birdcage for these baby orphan birds just until they could fly..I found out they didn't live too far away and that they could come by anytime and take the birdcage, I didn't want it back..The lady contacted me later and thanked me and I said that she should take some pictures just not really being serious, but would have been nice to see the birds..Well, she did it, she took a picture and sent it to me..So these are the baby orphan birds in the birdcage I gave to this lady..Aren't they cute? | |

| How to disinfect a cage | | I might be getting a budgie(parakeet) soon! yay!
well anyways I was wondering how to disinfect the old cage I have. I had 2 budgies about a year ago but they both died from I don't know what.
So I want to make sure the cage is disinfected before I get the new bird.
Any advice would be appreciated!
| | A new cage for my cockatiels | | My cockatiels always hang out on top of their cage. They always have their bums hanging off the side and end up pooping around the cage. Are those higher priced cages with the little wings coming out worth the extra price? How many of you use them? | |

| Taylor Swift is redoing her condo | | I heard on the radio coming home that Taylor Swift is redoing her condo. She has some quite interesting ideas! The condo she is redoing is in Nashville and is on the 18th floor of a highrise. She is going to put a moat around the living area. A moat on the 18th floor. The moat is going to have fish in it and visitors will have to walk across stepping stones to get over the moat into the condo. Then, upstairs, she is putting a human size bird cage with a telescope inside. The ceiling of her bedroom is painted like the night sky.You have to give the girl kudos for creativity although I think this is going a bit too far. What do you think? | |
| | Too Too the Cat/Bird.......... | | This is another picture of Too Too and one of the baby African Grey Congos. He is laying on top of the bird cage and the baby Grey climbed up there with them. They both decided to just Chill. Amazing how when these animals are brought up together, the love they can share. | |

| Kitten vs pet bird problem | | I have a 5 month old kitten (Muffin)who is very curious and trying to play/attack a cockatiel in his cage.
I keep Muffin in my bedroom while I am at work so that Buster doesn't end up as a snack, but I would like to have her roam freely. Even when I'm home I have to be alert because she ends up over by the bird cage trying to climb up it.
I know its just in a cat nature to want to attack anything that is noisy and moving, but is there anything that I can do to keep her away from the birdcage at least when I am at home. (I think trusting her to stay away while I'm away would be pushing my luck)
Thanks for any suggestions!By the the picture of the black & white cat is Robin Hood and he's too old to climb anything or pay much attention to Buster.
| | The Kitty Caper | | So, I'm at work and cleaning the bird's cage. The bird, a cockatiel, is our mascot and I clean his cage twice a week. He whistles at me and I whistle back. While he were whistling, the bird made a really high pitched sound. I said, "Bird's name, you have a new sound and I can't replicate it." So, I'm watching the bird. I hear the sound again but the bird's beak or throat didn't move. It's not the bird making the sound.I start following the sound. It's really loud and I know it's going to disturb some of the folks who stay at our facility. My radar ears finally close in on the sound. Low and behold, it's a little kitten sitting on the settee in the 1st floor elevator foyer. The little guy is just screaming his lungs out. I scoop up the gray striped tabby cat and lock him in my security office. I think I know where the kitten came from so I go upstairs to talk to the person. The lady said, she didn't know anything about the cat: "Didn't I want it." I said sure I'll take him home. I go back downstairs and call my husband to tell him I'm bringing a kitten home. We talk for a while about how the kitten may have gotten into the building. It had been raining and thought... | |

| Annoyance, Do not resent.....what do you think - your views? | | "Why didn't you tell her she was taking more than her share of room and encroaching upon your rights?" some one asked a young girl who was merrily describing an old woman who had taken a seat beside her in a crowded railway coach and crammed into the small space a bird-cage,a basket of apples and bundles numerous and varied.
"It wasn't worth to trouble about it; we had such a little way to go together,' was the reply.
What a motto that would be for a life-journey! Do you think likewise?
So many little annoyances are not worth noticing,so many small unkindnesses even may be passed by silently,because0 we have only "such a little way to go together."
Is it really possible for us to overlook these -can we honestly ignore such things because we have a little way to go" together"? Your views on this.
