| Save money with homemade toys for your pets | | I have four parakeets, and they absolutely love tearing any toys I buy them to shreds. I've given up having anything I give them last more than a week or two, and I recently started making homemade toys for them out of used cardboard tubes from toilet paper and paper towels. I cut out the parts of the tubes that have any glue residue on them, and then snip the tubes into spirals and lace those through the bars of the cage. My birds love to try to get them off of there! I've also given them toys made of uncooked pastas and large beads, and they loved those, too.
I've also made homemade toys for my three kitties using short lengths of string and a piece of crinkled paper. They really go nuts over that, especially if I tuck a little bit of dried catnip into the middle of it. It's a great way to spend quality time playing with your pets without breaking the bank! | |
